AGRO Merchants Group (AGRO) and Ibersol signed a strategic partnership in April of this year. The partnership designated AGRO as the cold storage and logistics provider for the company in Portugal for the next seven years.
Ibersol is a publicly traded multi-brand group operating in Iberia, with brands such as Burger King, KFC and Pizza Hut in its portfolio. AGRO now manages the storage, case picking and transport of the company’s frozen, chilled and ambient products in Portugal.
The two companies planned to hold a workshop to discuss the initial stages of the partnership, processes, KPIs and goals. However, due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the workshop had to be postponed. After the local government eased restrictions and all required safety measures were taken, the two teams finally met in July.
Raül Forés Vallès, Managing Director of AGRO Merchants Iberia, said: “I’m really excited that our teams got to meet up at last. Having won Ibersol’s account is certainly a great achievement and we look forward to our cooperation.
We have worked closely with Ibersol in the past year to understand their business and requirements. With our warehousing and transport capabilities in Portugal and our customer-centric approach, we can provide the highest standard of service to Ibersol.”
AGRO has an unrivalled presence in the Iberian region. The company operates four facilities in Portugal (Lisbon, Porto, Leixões and Sines) and four facilities in Spain (Algeciras, Valencia and two cold stores in Barcelona). In addition to multi-temperature storage and transportation, the company also offers value-added services, such as order picking, cross docking and import and export services.
